Smartphones with displays that take up the majority of the front fascia – “all-screen” designs as everyone calls them – are becoming increasingly commonplace. Xiaomi has launched two such phones, the Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2, and other Chinese OEMs have also joined the bandwagon. Meizu, meanwhile, is still making phones the old-fashioned way, but according to the latest leak, that could change very soon.
Meizu M6s live images leak
Images have surfaced online purporting to show the Meizu M6s, with an 18:9 display up front. The bezels are still sizable, but the screen does take up much of the surface area. The fingerprint sensor seems to have been located below the power button on the right side of the phone, which is similar to how Sony is mounting fingerprint scanners on its devices. The software, however, looks rather old, but that is likely because the device is running test software and not the final version that will debut on the retail product.
What do you think of the phone seen in the images? Does Meizu’s alleged first all-screen phone look exciting, or should the company do more to make the device stand out?
