When you don’t sell a particular product in a particular country, it’s never a wise move to advertise that product in said country. But when it comes to Times Square in New York, any kind of advertising can work in your favor. If not sales, you’re looking at increased exposure to the product you’re advertising, and that’s something Meizu has tried to achieve by showing off the Meizu PRO 7 on a billboard at “the crossroads of the world.” The company isn’t selling products in the US yet, but it’s a smart way of showing off how special the device is with that unique secondary display at the rear.
The second screen isn’t just for show
More than just a constantly lit up display of the time and weather or a way to control music, the screen on the back can be used for an important function: taking selfies of yourself and your friends with the dual rear cameras. No matter how high you go with the front camera’s resolution, the rear camera’s image quality and hardware cannot be matched, and the PRO 7 enables one to take top-quality selfies using the secondary screen. Oh, and the two displays on the PRO 7 are Super AMOLED panels, so you get a vivid viewing experience on either side of the device.
All we need now is a phone with an “all-screen” design, and leaks tell us Meizu is already working on one.
