Well, it looks like the rumors of the MX7 launching in October were not only wrong, but much farther from the truth than one would expect. Yang Zhe, Meizu’s Senior Vice President, has revealed that the company isn’t aiming to launch any new smartphone this year. The MX7 is mentioned by name in the post, and Zhe says “the flagship product will debut in the spring of 2018.” That means sometime in the first quarter of 2018, which is a few months away.
Pro 7 and 7 Plus reiterated as company’s latest flagships
It might actually be a sensible choice on Meizu’s part to delay the launch of the MX7, especially with the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus having launched with high-end specs just two months ago. Zhe’s post even includes an image of the Pro 7, which is no doubt to reiterate that it is the latest and greatest the company has to offer. Which is well and good, considering the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus have what it takes to keep sales going strong.
