It seems that Meizu wants to join Vivo and Lenovo to bring out a phone with one of the best screen to body ratios. But what if I say, Meizu is working on a concept phone, which has a screen to body ratio of nearly 100%. Yes, this is possible because of the type of screen Meizu is using. Recently, a meeting was held at Meizu Headquarters in China, where some Meizu super fans had a chance to interact with company’s officials.
Meizu disclosed to some fans that they are working on a concept phone, with a screen to body ratio close to 100%. This matches the old leaked patent of Meizu, and now we have more information about the phone.
They are using a graphene screen instead of the regular glass one. As graphene is transparent in nature, Meizu plans to hide their front camera and other sensors below the screen. This will help them to reduce all the bezels to their maximum. One more advantage of graphene screens is that they are shatterproof in nature.
Meizu has also patented an under display fingerprint sensor, which they’ll be using in their concept. Unlike others, this one is an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which senses the fingerprints from the side bezels.
But the production of this phone on a large-scale is very difficult as of now, availability of graphene being one of the major reasons. Let’s see when Meizu will showcase this concept like the Vivo Apex. Stay tuned with MeizuMatters for further news and updates !
