It looks like Meizu wants to do something big in the full-screen smartphones era. Though they launched their recent flagship with a 16:9 screen, but managed to give it a screen-to-body ratio of 83%, which is even slightly more than the Mi Mix 2S and Huawei P20 Pro!
Recently, Meizu filed a patent for a new bezelless phone, which could also be the upcoming Meizu 16, launching in August this year. A roadmap of Meizu was leaked earlier, which showed that 2 phones will be launched in August, that are expected to be Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus.
This patent shows a phone with an incredible screen-to-body ratio of more than 95% percent, and it looks like the screen is curved from both the sides. The top and bottom both bezels look too small to house a front camera, so it’s not yet clear where it would be.
It may take much more time than expected to see this design on a real phone. Or maybe this might just end up being a patent, because not all patents turn out to be an actual phone. Stay tuned with MeizuMatters for further updates!
