Meizu is going to celebrate its 15th anniversary this year and it’s going to commemorate this milestone by launching two new handsets – the Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Plus. This was confirmed not too long ago by Meizu founder and CEO Jack Wong. We’ve already seen a couple of leaked Meizu 15 Plus renders which have revealed some details about the handset. A leaked Meizu 15 Plus image is now floating online showcasing the handset’s dual camera.
Meizu 15 Plus has a dual camera
The leaked image shows off the dual camera positioned on the back of the Meizu 15 Plus. The back itself appears to be quite reflective which suggests that it might be made out of glass. The dual camera system appears to be flush with the body. We can also see a ring flash below the camera which has also been present on leaked renders of this device.
While it was previously believed that this ring-like cutout might house a fingerprint sensor even though a fingerprint sensor with such a small surface area wouldn’t have made sense, fresh reports suggest that it’s an LED flash as the fingerprint sensor has been relocated to the side bezel underneath the power button.
There’s no clarity on the fingerprint sensor location right now. Some reports have suggested that there might be a Halo button on the front side like the Meizu M6s but it hasn’t been included in any of the renders that have been leaked so far.
The company is yet to confirm when the Meizu 15 Plus is going to be officially launched, though it may be announced next month to celebrate Meizu’s 15th anniversary. The handset is reportedly going to tout the Snapdragon 845 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
