Meizu announced their new Meizu 6T yesterday in a launch event. Interestingly, the event was the smallest launch event in the history of mobile phones, that ended in just 20 minutes. The phone is a decent budget phone with some bang for buck specs. To read more about the Meizu 6T, click here.
During the event, Li Nan also shared that Blue Charm (mBlue/Meilan/M-Series), the sub brand of Meizu making budget and mid-range devices have sold more than 50 million mobiles since they’re in existence. This is obviously less as compared to Redmi or Honor, but still a large number for a growing company like Meizu. Currently, Meizu ranks 11th in top mobile companies in the world, with 22 million sales last year.
The major reason why Meizu isn’t growing as much as other companies is because they’re still not ready to focus properly on international markets. Though they’re active in some of them, but at the same time they’re not taking some big markets like India seriously. It is disappointing for all fans who want to buy their products.
Meizu Global Community, consisting of fans from all over the world have even started a petition demanding Meizu to change its current vision towards international markets. You can also sign-up the petition from here.
